Biography: Pollie Bith-Melander received her Ph.D. degrees from the University of Hawaii-Manoa. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University at East Bay and a pupil personnel service credential from California State University at San Jose. BA in Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley, Working as a former faculty member at San Jose State, also an assistant professor of social work at California State University at Stanislaus. Research focused on anthropology with application to cultural explanatory models of illness and ethnocultural variations in the etiology, expression, and treatment in the context of trauma.
